Onions, baby!

Instructions

Create (note the word CREATE) something that is more than it first appears to be. See my blog for examples. This exercise can be a bit more difficult than it first appears to be.

For this assignment I really didn't know what I wanted to create, so I created this logo for my company in photoshop. To anyone who first views the art design they will just think its a street sign, with the words 26 Entertainment on it. Maybe it could represent a company of some sort, DING DING DING, well your right. But, it's not just a logo for my company, 26 is the street that I grew up on and where my parents currently reside. Within, my company there are four of us and yes, we all grew up together on the northwest side of Indy (23 years) on 26th and Martin Luther King. So, this "street sign" or company sign, has a deeper meaning to it and anyone who first views the sign/logo could only guess that this is a company logo, only because of the "Entertainment". The logo represents who I am and where I come from, as well as where I plan on going in the future.

Recap of Class 2/22

Well, today's class was more laid back, I think because we watched that movie for almost the whole class. I really enjoyed seeing the three students work, but I can vividly remember the faces that one of the students(forget his name), dad was making and that reminded me of The Beast off of X-Men. I always watched the cartoons every morning, so the effect was very hilarious to me. Now, the movie "Ink" I really didn't understand from the beginning, because I was barely watching it. But, after a way I got into the movie although at sometimes the movie was dull and boring.

Bliss + Time + Breaking rules = ????

Well, I'm going to start off talking about what I did with my 3 hours of freedom in my life. With my 3 hours I just sat around and watched television, because I never really watch t.v. I'm always working on things either for school or my company, or driving to see my sons. So, I'm a very busy person, but with the 3 hour block that we usually have class, I was being flat out LAZY. I only say that because I'm use to always being on the go, never wasting a second of my life, except to sleep!

I really couldn't think of a rule for software, but instead I think I'm going to break a New Media "law" that everyone knows and should follow, this separates an amateur from a professional I would say! The text in the picture is hard to read, mainly because the background color and text is similar and that's a BIG NO NO!

Class Recap: 2/15

***CLASS CANCELED!!!!!CLASS CANCELED!!!!!CLASS CANCELED!!!!!CLASS CANCELED!!!!***

Monday morning I woke up and looked out the window, I thought to myself "Mann do I want to go to school?" So, after going back and forth over that question and checking oncourse like a maniac, I soon decided that I would go to school. So, this means I would have to get dressed and go outside to shovel my car out of the snow, because I didn't drive my car Sunday. Got to the school 15 minutes before my first class which starts at 12pm. Little did I know that the teacher would cancel class 5 minutes later of me arriving at the school, so I was a little upset but ahhh' I knew I was about to be sitting sideways. So, I worked on some homework, then I checked on oncourse to see if Seeing Sideways was canceled and I was sad after learning that I couldn't sit sideways that day. But, I soon got myself together, wiped away my tears and went home to a nice warm bed.

Thinking Circles

Consider a circle. Critically think about what a circle is. What defines a circle? How does a circle make you feel? Where do you encounter a circle? Please answer those questions (and any others you dream up) on your blog.

To me a circle is a round object, either in the making or already complete. Anything could possible make a circle, a circle has no ending point. Everyday you wake up you see circles everywhere i.g: street lights, tires, watches, circular batteries, I could go on for days. But, below are a few examples of circles that I thought was neat.

Circles

Circles
This was a crazy assignment, I really didn't know what to do my homework over. So, I just decided to take pictures of a traffic light, tire, and a smiley face made from peanuts. The first two objects are things that reminded me of circles and things we see everyday while outside of our houses. If you own a car, you have tires. Also, if you drive a car, you encounter traffic lights. Crop circles has always puzzled me, the first thing that comes to my mind when I thinking of them are "UFO's". I think I have watched to many alien and Sci Fi movies dealing with aliens, crop circles, the world, and the president just to name a few. I thought of creating the smiley face with the peanuts so that it would resemble a circle if the correct measurements were sought out. But, wouldn't you say the face is adorable?

2/1/2010 Seeing Sideways

Well, today I missed class due to the face that my son Zahrius Amere Marshall was born at 1:10pm.

I was at the hospital ALL day, I think I still have that hospital smell lingering on me still lol. I really had a good day yesterday, my son was born and then my closest friend Ricky came over my house with a bottle of Champagne. So we(Mother, Father, Friend, and I) made a toast to the birth of my new son.
